Rated 4 out of 5Â by lampterp Nice tennis (and overall) shoes
Just put this new pair to test today.
The leather-upper look is very classy. I only wish there were more color options in the wide (2E) size. The towel-like lining inside the shoes feels very comfortable - I could probably even skip wearing socks with these.
Since many modern tennis shoes used on court are more complex in design, and since these kind of shoes seem to have become "casual" sneakers, I was skeptical about their performance on the court.
However, I was pleasantly surprised by their comfort and stability and so far they seem to be at least as good as (if not better than) the running shoes I was previously using for tennis. Note that I'm a beginner, so your mileage may vary.
Note though that the upper being leather, it will wrinkle a little, and not bend as easily as synthetic materials, if you try to bend the foot just above your toes. Again, this might be of concern for some level of sports, but hasn't for me so far.
The only thing I was surprised to find was that the green "Reebok" printed in the inside sole seems to be rubbing-off already after one use, even though that does not affect the looks or the performance of the shoes in any way.
The sole (external) is very classy and sleek. It's flatter than running shoes and many casual sneakers, as you would expect from classic tennis shoes, but with a more modern design.
I was luckily able to check these out in person at a local outlet, and then order my size online, so I was confident about my purchase.
