While my review of these shoes stand at a good rating. Mostly b/c of the equipment failure that occurred with mine, front strap broke. Reebok's customer service and dedication to making the situation right with one of their customers is definitely world class. I was sent a replacement pair within days. They are a decent weightlifting shoe, with little need to change back into your Nanos for box jumps, etc. Although I do not recommend that you run or sprint in them. Overall, you would not be disappointed if you chose them as your go to for all of your Oly lifts and squats.

I own a pair of the original Reebok lifters which are a great shoe, but the lifter plus is even better. The second strap adds a more secure feel as the shoe will not slip out when performing clean jerks. This shoe works really well on the squat apparatus that has wood flooring as the shoe will not slip! unlike regular cross trainers. The U-form technology similar to the original release allows for a custom fit. I also love the way it looks....Reebok has the best lifting shoe out there!
Rated 5 out of 5Â by m118 First Olympic-Lifting style shoe, great!
A number of years ago I started getting serious with lifting and that included squats, deadlifts, box steps, etc. I wore a regular tennis shoe but would always read about shoes designed for dedicated lifting, but they were expensive! I always had some stability issues coming out of the squat-- I'd tend to lean back and my heels would roll back. I'd sort of been cheating an incident the entire time.... Until last month I strained my ankle underweight and was out of action for a month. I started looking at Oly lifting shoes again, but the reviews of other brands and their shoes 100% designed for Olympic lifting bothered me when taking into account their price.
I read some great reviews on the CrossFit Lifter and then the CrossFit Lifter Plus and decided to give it a shot. Two words: AWESOME SHOE! The raised heel and flat sole extending back took care of the rolling issue I had immediately, and so far I haven't had the need to step backwards or get off balance during squats, thrusters, etc. Shoulda bought these a long time ago...
I wore an 11.5 Brooks running shoe; ordered the same size in the Lifter-- fit was perfect! I did heat up and try the U-Form but honestly I couldn't tell any difference in fit from before heating the U-Form to after it. They're more than comfortable out of the box, though.
Only other "con" I'd give it is the straps don't tighten as much as I thought they would. Nearly all the force is through laces, and even after pulling darn hard on the straps and wrapping it into place I still didn't feel a whole lot more "locked it". Users with feet more thick than mine may feel a difference.
I'd definitely buy these again in the future.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by CrlMac1 A must to wear in the weight room!
This is my first Oly shoes & I'm glad I made this purchasing decision. This is by no means a cheap pair of "gym" shoes but yet cheaper compared to other known brands. I work out 4-5 times per week for a couple of hours of strength training in the weight room so it does get some mileage. I treat them as a fitness investment; switching to & wearing this only in the weight room to make the soles last long. Big difference in my lifts in the weight room. It creates a stable foundation in all of my lifts; no power bleeds from wearing soft unstable rubber soles. Even with the plastic back sole, it's VERY comfortable to wear. Best worn after baking it. You only have to do it once. Got the Black/Red combo which is easy to pair with your existing workout clothes.
My only gripes are the following (fixed in v2.0):
- Straps are too long
- Can't really run with it nor walk long distances with it.
- Because of the plastic bottom, you're going to be "tap-walking" from the weight room to the water fountain. Can be annoying at times to the point that I would sometimes walk on the balls of my feet (becomes a calf exercise).
- If you accidentally catch the plastic bottom edges of the back part of the sole from rounding the corner, you might slightly slip but can easily recover from it. Might smudge floor tiles though.

I purchased the Reebok lifter last year and loved them! I train 6-7 days a week and olympic lifting is a huge part of my routine. I decided to buy the lifter plus simply because I was curious to see how the double strap would feel. I was even more impressed then I had anticipated. I love the shoe and get a huge advantage for my olympic lifts. If you are serious about your training this shoe is a must buy!
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Knatori Superior feel and more stability
I have to say I am amazed at how much more stable and firm the Lifter Plus feel compared to the originals. Although by first site the Lifter Plus soles look the same as the original, the Lifter Plus has a firmer sole and the double straps makes your foot hold feel unmovable when you are cleaning and snatching but still has the flexibility to do double-unders, box jumps or burpees.
I would highly recommend these shoes. Oh and if you have not noticed the shoes look sick... Buy with confidence!
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Jefffromflorida Full size different from my Nike shoes
I had to re-order the 3.0 and these Lifter plus a half size smaller than my 2.0's and a full size smaller than my Nike running shoes. I recommend going to the Reebok store and trying them on before you purchase them online. They are awesome lifting and crossfit shoes once u get them in the right size.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by TonyD55 Buy one size down
I read a million different reviews of all the Oly lifters out there, what was the deciding factor was talking to some crossfitters at my box and there experience with these shoes. I bought one size down and the fit is perfect for my size 11 feet i bought the 10 1/2. I also have kinda fat feet so the dbl velcro helps keep me locked into place. My first lift with the shoes was a working up to a 225 thruster and i felt great having the support and the platform to push off from the bottom of my squat. I have also lifted for PR in the back squat (425lbs) and the felt good alittle squishy because of the load but good none the less. I will write back in 2 months to let anybody interested how they are holding or held up.

I was/am a firm believer in the old functional fitness adage, that the shoes don't matter (paraphrasing). I still agree with that, BUT... I have spent a lot of time in recovery after surgery and focused on my olympic and strongman lifts. Figured, why not try and bought them. Have now become a believer. They are low maintenance and have helped me achieve PRs on all my olympic lifts. Not bad for a 40yo. I am still an avid functional athlete and have no issues using these in any WOD short of a long run.
