I've worn Reeboks for years and am wondering why you fixed this product when it wasn't broken in the first place. You've replaced the soft, supple leather uppers with synthetic man made materials and have taken away the arch support that so many of us need. I'm SO disappointed by the cheapened product that Reebok is now marketing. I will be joining the hundreds of your loyal but disappointed customers and will be looking elsewhere for a lightweight shoe of quality that Reebok once was but is no more.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Abbie No longer the great Reebok Princess
The Princess no longer has leather uppers that mold supporting you entire foot. It no longer has the Great arch support that was so comfortable. It no longer has the rise from toe to heel that made standing, walking, gardening, treadmill, biking so comfortable. I have worn the Princess for over 30 years. I would keep a new pair on hand at all times. There has been no shoe made to replace this tried and true shoe. Such a shame. Will have to find a new shoe. This new one so lower in standards, fit, arch, no support. I am not happy. Why take a wonderful shoe and remake design and call it the Princess.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Katio No longer leather
I have been wearing these shoes for work and sport for at least 15 years and loved them. Yesterday I went to purchase a replacement pair. The moment I put them on, they felt tight and uncomfortable. When I took them off to see what was going on, there was a little sticker that said man made uppers. These are no longer the shoes I loved and recommended to so many. I also feel that Reebok is being sneaky about this and have found many such comments on the internet.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by mary111 Not happy with changes
I bought two new pair of Princess shoes. Thought I was imagining things when they didn't feel right. Stumbled on this website and started reading comments. Ha! It isn't ME...it's the SHOES! Like so many, I have worn these shoes since the 80s - tried others, threw them away and came back to Princess. Finally decided a few years ago to just stick with Princess. Now this!!! What a dumb idea to change something that is so tried and true. Someone who knows how should start a petition to Reebok. This is right up there with "New Coke" as far as I am concerned. Negative, negative, negative!!!
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Pinky1950 This product is not what is used to be
I purchased (2) pair and both of them are too tight. Have purchased Reebok Princess/Classic for years and have never experienced such an uncomfortable fit. Tried washing and wearing wet thinking maybe they would stretch a little - nothing.
Don't know if it makes a difference but both pair were made in Vietnam. I purchased 1 pair at the store (Macy's) because I had a coupon and they only cost $20. I put them aside for future use. Meantime I purchased another pair on-line at Macy's - big mistake after I started wearing the first pair and realized how bad they felt. Then I noticed the 2nd pair were also made in Vietnam and could have screemed after I tried them on. Both are a horrible fit.
Since I already wore both pair, was not going to take back to the store so I'm out $60. Been wearing 1 pair for about 2 weeks and they don't feel any better. NO cushion whatsoever.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Swanny2you Disappointed after all these years! PLASTIC!!!!!!
I can't believe it. They're now PLAStIC! ("man made" materials) Can you believe it? They can't call these "Classic" if they're completely changed. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SOFTEST LEATHER SNEAKER AVAILABLE?
Who wants to walk in plastic shoes?
They're now not only UNCOMFORTABLE, they're UNHEALTHY!
They took the perfect everyday sneaker, and ruined it!
Rated 2 out of 5Â by Pam68 No longer leather and no longer comfortable
I have worn these shoes and the similar Freestyle for years. Sometime fairly recently, Reebok started making the Princess out of synthetic leather (aka vinyl?) and it seems the overall quality is not as good either. The shoes have a funny firm feeling, being plastic, and the tongue is now made from a very coarse nylon type fabric that is stiff. The inner lining doesn't seem to be as nice either. The rubber sole is the same as always but the shoe does not fit like it used to. I tried my normal size 9 and it was tight. Wide width didn't really help much and in the end I had to go up to a 10 W. Given the price has not gone down any, the shoes aren't a great value any more.
Rated 5 out of 5Â by BSue40 I bought my first pair around the year 1985. It was white with pink trim. The terry cloth inside was pink and the plastic tips on the shoe laces were pink. The remaining pink detailing was much like the black shoe with pink trim, is now. I wish you would bring the white shoe, with pink trim back. The "Princess" is the most comfortable shoe one can buy. I bought my mother her first pair in 1985 also and over the years, her feet have become mis-shapen with lumps and bumps, but this soft leather shoe just continues to form to her feet and is still comfortable. Although she did have to go to the wide width, it is still the only shoe that she can wear all day long.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Cindy61 Disappointed with "new" Reebok Princess
I have worn the Princess for close to 20 years. The first time I tried them on it was like putting my feet into a cloud of marshmallows. They were so soft and comfortable. They were the ONLY sneaker I bought. I could buy them without even trying them on since they were consistently good in both comfort and fit. Last year I noticed they fit differently and were uncomfortable. I noticed they were made in a different country now (can't remember where they were originally made). Now, after reading the reviews, I find they are no longer made with leather. I won't be purchasing this products anymore. Come on Reebok. Give us back our good old, tried and true Princess. We love them, we want them and we deserve them!
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Mary28 I used to love Princess Reeboks
I'm upset by the Princess Reeboks not being leather. I wear them as Nursing shoes and always have a second pair for fitness or casual use. I have worn them for many years. The change in arch support and the fact that the synthetic shoe does not conform to my foot or breathe will force me to buy another product, not Reebok.
Rated 4 out of 5Â by McGill85 Love the Princess style; prefer the leather model
I own eight pairs of Princess shoes in leather, both black and white. Many of my friends and I have high arches and have always loved the leather Princess because it had both arch support and flexibility. I just bought a new white pair and they are synthetic uppers -- not at all flexible, and they have no arch support. Why? There's a whole army of us Princess wearers who would really like to see Reebok make this shoe again as it originally was, with leather uppers and the arch support. Please, please bring it back or at least put the arch support into the new model. You're disappointing millions of baby boomers!

I'm SO disappointed by the cheaply made product that Reebok is now marketing. I will be joining the hundreds of your disappointed customers and will be looking elsewhere for a shoe of quality that Reebok once made.. You are loosing a lot of forrmer loyal customers.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by granny this shoe is not leather
I am thoroughly disgusted with the new princess shoes. I have been buying these shoes for I know about 15 years because I do a lot of standing on my job. I brought a pair of black princess' from carnival shoe and they are not leather, i don't not buy synthetic material for my feet.
When did you people change the material of a great shoe? I know it had to have been soon because I buy the shoe at least once a year.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Jodi41 Changes in Sizes, Widths and Material not good.
I have worn this Princess shoe for many many years due to my varicose veins. They were perfect. The past two years I have found the wide sizes are just too tight. I even went to the Reebok Outlet store but walked out with nothing for the same reason. I also noticed that you have taken the leather away. Why did you change something that was perfect the way it was? Please bring back the leather and the wide widths that coincide with american footwear. I have not been able to buy Reebok since these changes were made and am now looking for that perfect sneaker again. Thank you.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by SadYouChanged Why did you change a good thing?
I've worn the Reebok Princess shoes for over 20 years, white in the summer and black in the winter. As a teacher, I spend a lot of time on my feet, standing and walking. The old leather Reeboks are comfortable and provide good support. The new synthetic ones don't fit well and don't breathe. Not everyone is after the cheapest price. We want comfort and durability and are willing to pay a higher price, if that's your issue. I'm now looking for a new brand. You lost a loyal customer.
My product rating is based on the new product. The old one was great.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Nicoleshoes Bring the original version back
Extremely disapointed to buy a new pair and find out they are no longer leather, no longer have the arch support and are noticeably less comfortable. The synthetic upper does not breathe like leather does and it does not mold to the shape of my foot. I have worn this style daily for decades and have been unable to find anything even close to the comfort I have enjoyed. Now they have been cheapened and no longer provide the comfort needed when I am on my feet all day. I would gladly pay more if production costs have risen. Why take a proven product and degrade it when there is such a loyal following?
Rated 2 out of 5Â by funkyj disappointed in changes
I have been wearing this shoe for years. Then the arch support was taken out. Now this last pair has arrived and is not leather! I am shocked. So, now, this will be the LAST pair of these shoes I will buy. It had been the most comfortable shoe for my hard to fit feet. I could get the wide width and the soft leather conformed to my feet and breathed. Too bad you ruined the perfect shoe. Now, I don't know what I will do.
Rated 2 out of 5Â by xxoo Really disappointed
I have been wearing a new pair of Reebok Princess sneakers for a couple months and could not understand why they seemed narrow and tight. and uncomfortable. I have worn this style for about 8 years and I have walked for hours in them with no problems.
Now I read that they are narrower than they used to be and that Reebok is not using leather (which means they may never stretch but may remain as uncomfortable as they are now). This was my favorite shoe for traveling because they looked rather delicate, and were very comfortable.
Don't know if I can go down a size since I have narrow ankle and instep. I will try because I have no better option at this point in time. But I will be looking around for a leather product.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by oyvey Now made of synthetic leather, which is, well, not leather. Not nearly as comfortable. Does not stretch. The former Princess was comfortable from the moment you tried them on. I would be willing to pay more for real leather and arch support, two key features, which are now missing. I am confident that other customers would agree.
After an injury these were the only shoes I could wear comfortably. Guess I'll take my money and buy orthopedics shoes.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Tshsting WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED USING LEATHER???????!!!!!
I have worn this style for years. It is a great shoe. Now I find out that you are no longer making it in leather!! If I wanted plastic shoes I would just buy a cheap pair at Walmart. I am really disappointed , as are many others, that you have changed to using cheap, unbreathable plastic. Please let us know when you change back to leather, as I won't be buying your shoes until then
Please. BRING BACK THE LEATHER PRINCESS SHOES !!!!!
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Kat1 No longer in leather!
I've been buying the women's princess style Reebok's for almost 20 years at this point. I get a white pair and a black pair every 2-3 years and they're always been immediately comfortable. But the white pair I bought this fall is miserable. The toe box on the right shoe doesn't have enough room for my toes and compresses them. And the left heel is rubbing raw. The bump on the back of the shoe is about 1/4 inch higher than the one on my older white pair but I have no explanation for the discomfort in the right shoe. I see from the reviews that other people are also having problems with these shoes. And now I see why - they're no longer leather! I will not be buying your shoes again.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Towncrier65 Hate new Princess shoes!
I am so upset that you've changed the Reeboks I've been wearing for 20+ years. They are the ONLY shoes I could wear for every day because they cushioned my arch well. Two different shoes I tried to buy (in July '13 and in Jan,"14) were no good. The arch support is gone. Felt like walking on hard flat pavement. The first pair was the same size as my old, but was too short. My OLD pair that is worn out, has MORE cushioning than the NEW! After buying at LEAST 30-40 pair over these years, I cannot wear them. Please DO SOMETHING!
Rated 4 out of 5Â by LYNND Reebok Princess Shoe: The Scoop
These Reebok Princess shoes are deserving of recognition on several levels, in addition to the fact that they are a Reebok classic that's been around since the 1980s and continues to attract loyal buyers.
The good: If you have tired feet these shoes have a springier, softer in-step than absolutely anything on the market. I had heel pain that did not resolve for years on end despite medical care and now I can enjoy daily walks again thanks to these shoes and the terrific EVA midsole. These past few years I have been the "Goldilocks of athletic shoes" and this design qualifies as "just right" when it comes to reducing or eliminating foot fatigue.
The bad: As someone who first began buying this style in high school, I was terribly shocked to find that despite web descriptions saying that these are leather, many of them in stores are not genuine leather. In some cases stores have hang-tags on the display shoes indicating they are leather, whereas the sticker inside says "man made". This could cause a lot of confusion on the part of consumers, some of whom are paying the price for leather (but getting plastic) and others who are getting the original "garment leather". I hope Reebok sticks to the leather because it gives more for a better fit and breathes more for a healthier foot.
The so-so: I would like to see the fit more true to size. I ordered wide width in my normal size and still the shoe was too narrow, to the point where I physically could not get the shoe on my foot. I had to order a half size up on top of the fact that it was "D" width. The next size up is actually a tad too big; I have almost a half inch extra space beyond my big toe.
The trend: The Reebok Princess shoe is becoming popular for Zumba Fitness exercises. Originally an aerobic shoe, the traction is perfect for working out to an exercise video at home or going to a class at the gym. It also makes a great shoe for anyone who needs to spend hours on their feet.
The verdict: For those who are not already long-time buyers of this style and are unfamiliar with the fit, consider shopping locally. Likewise, if you really want leather and don't want to chance a vinyl or "simulated leather" Reebok classic Princess shoe, consider placing your order by phone.
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Ana47 No longer leather?
Now that I am retired, I decided to buy two more pairs of these shoes to travel with. The minute I put on the shoe it was too narrow and my toe touched the tip. I checked to see if it was leather and it was not. Why? I would pay more for the shoe if it was leather. You ruined a good thing.

I was so looking forward to 2012 xmas present to myself but knew after just trying on one shoe something in Reebok's quality control had changed in the past few years but I persevered, and wore them for 2 weeks....my feet aching like never before in my favorite walking shoe. SO....
I had always ordered 8W and there was no having to stretch them out...they fit perfectly but then it's been 3-4 yrs since I'd purchased my last pair.

Just purchased a new, replacement pair of Reebok Princess. I love this shoe - or should I say - LOVED this shoe when it was leather. Please go back to the original real leather. Thank you
Rated 1 out of 5Â by sorefeetinny what were they thinking!
I have bought these shoes for 30 years.. Never even had to try them on in the shoe store! Ordered a new pair online expecting to get my usual comfortable sneaker. Tried one on, took it off, put it back in the box, and I'm on my way today to the post office to return. If I wanted a pair of sneakers like the ones they sent me, I could have gone to a discount store at half the price! Now the search begins to find a good sneaker and I won't be looking at Reebock!
Rated 1 out of 5Â by Sandy47 The shoes are stiff, uncomfortable, cheap-looking.
For decades, the Princess shoes have been my favorites--they were comfortable, stylish, flexible, and of high quality. I just bought a new pair, which will go back to the store. The new shoes are stiff, hard, synthetic, uncomfortable, and do not provide the kind of support the old shoes did. The price is the same, but the quality has declined.
I noticed that the reviews at this website are overwhelmingly negative. Reebok, time to revamp your product?
Rated 2 out of 5Â by JaniceM No longer leather
I loved these shoes for years.. I was always able to take them out of the box and never have to worry about breaking them in. Like another user I always had multiple pairs in my closet...from white and pretty to green stains when they got down to lawnmowing shoes. They were perfect out of the box. This review is in the past tense because the synthetic material just doesn't cut it for me. Sorry Reebok.
Rated 1 out of 5 Fire the idiot who changed the shoe!
I have bought the princess reebok tennis shoe for over 30 years and I was shocked when I purchased a pair of 7 1/2 and it didn't fit. Then my feet started hurting after a few minutes and I realized they were different. I went online and found out that they are plastic now instead of leather. I hate! hate! hate! your new shoe and won't purchase them anymore unless you change them back.!!!!!!!!!
